1. 学分/学时(Credit/Hours):1/16 2. 开课学期(Semester):2 3. 内容简介(Introduction):本课程面向的对象为材料工程专业的硕士生。本课程尝试通过大量的实例,讲解撰写英语科技论文和参加国际学术交流的过程、方法和可能遇到的问题。结合学生的科研实践,讨论和模拟演练期刊论文以及国际会议论文的发表准备、投稿、审稿、修改和发表等具体过程。力求通过本课程的学习与演练,基本掌握如何发表英文期刊论文或国际会议论文,初步了解国际学术交流的过程和规范,提高学生在英语科技论文写作与国际学术交流方面的实战能力。(This course is targeted at master students in material engineering major. This course attempts to illustrate the process, method and possible problems of writing English scientific papers and participating in international academic exchanges through a large number of examples. In combination with the students' scientific research practice, the discussion and Simulation of periodical papers and the preparation, contribution, review, revision and publication of the papers of the international conferences. 1. 目标1(Objective 1):熟悉并掌握科技英语文体(Familiar withthe normative requirements of scientific and technological writing style)
2. 目标2(Objective 2):能够熟练写作科技论文(Be proficient inwriting scientific papers)
3. 目标3(Objective 3):熟练掌握科技论文中长句型的翻译方法(Master thetranslation methods of long sentence patterns in scientific papers)
4. 目标4(Objective 4):可以流畅阅读并准确理解作者原意(Be able tofluent reading and accurate understanding of author's original intention)
5. 目标5(Objective 5):可以熟练使用英语进行学术讨论及并进行学术报告(Havingcapability to use English for academic discussion and academic report)
可采取(但不局限于)以下方式进行课程学习效果考核:
1. 书面报告(Written Reports):根据随堂讲课内容,进行书面写作练习,并对写作中存在的问题进行讨论和改进。(Wring exercises according to the content of the lecture,discuss and improve the problems in the writing.)
2. 口头报告(Oral Reports):针对不同的研究主题,由学生分组进行口头报告,并对口头报告中存在的问题进行交互式的讨论和改进。(According to different research topics, the students aredivided into several groups to make oral presentations, interactive discussionsand improvements should be made based on the existing problems in oralpresentations.)
3. 期末考试(Exams):考查内容包括写作手法、翻译、写作训练。考试要求是:考查学生是否掌握课堂讲授的文章内容和语言点,提高学生的写作运用能力。包括语法词汇、命题作文、便条等。(The final examination includes writing techniques,translation and writing training. Examination requirements are: check whetherstudents grasp the content and language points of classroom teaching, andimprove students' writing ability. Including grammatical words, propositionalcompositions, notes, etc)
